Everest are: Ollie Hawes (vocals, guitars), Gayle Henry (vocals), Matt Dibbens (drums), Edd Biles (bass) and Sam Plester (keyboards, vocals). Originally forming in Manchester around 2002, Ollie moved from city to city over the following couple of years in his endeavour to acquire the perfect lineup.
Gaining unprecedented industry interest from just the first EP (I Can't Remember Yesterday EP, Lipa Studios, '02), Everest were quickly finding themselves regularly in studios across the country including Birmingham's Blue Whale Studios, and EMI Studios, London. Settling on the final lineup in the midlands during 2004, they soon began the thorough completion of the already sturdy work of Ollie's songwriting.
With influences from the 1970’s folk of Neil Young and John Martyn, through to artists such as Teenage Fanclub and Wilco, the band produce what has been described as “An eloquent blend of hair-standing harmonies over purely irresistible melodies”. Having established themselves with an ever-growing fan-base, Everest strive to perform as much as possible and produce more and more recorded material.
